Engines - Well, here's why we do this.

The thrill of 60 MPH wind rushing through your hair! The motors and drives.  My goal in building these motors was for performance without a ton of maintenance. I choose to normally aspirate the motors. I had the motors built to handle the pressure of a 6 lbs supercharger if you want to put some on. It's up to you. The cubic in of the motors is 502. This is a standard Chevy block motor. All motors and the engine area has been detailed with Deltron custom paints. All paint work was done by SD Enterprises (432 Carmen, Ferrysburg, MI, 49409. Owner Steve DekKinga. 616-847-8382) They specialize in painting custom Funny Car, Nascar and Top Fuel Drag Racing. They also do normal body work on cars, motorcycles and boats too. Everything on the boat has been custom painted using several coats of Deltron paint.

The motors were built by Performance Engineering and just recently rebuilt by Varney's Racing Engines and Dan and Blue Water Marine. Varney's is in Muskegon and Blue Water is in Montague, MI They are a high performance motor builder with all the tools needed to do the job right. Complete Dyno systems, years of experience, and a warranty to boot! As you know, not many builders do this. It was a must with me.

Drives - Bravo One

The Bravo One's have performed perfectly. Again, my goal was not to go 100 MPH in the boat. It was more for looks and comfort. I chose these drives simply because of the cost. Upgrading to Speed Master #3's was too much for me! I was most concerned about long term performance and cost. Here's some of the details of the drive system.

  • 5" Quicksilver stainless steel props
  • Nose cones (less drag)
  • No silent choice. Just so you know.
  • Water Shower System (lowers temp of drive oil / upper bearing which reduces wear)
  • Latham Hydrolic Steering system.
  • Sythetic Oil used in drives.
  • Remote Drive Oil reservoir.

Bottom line, they work great! No problems.
